The addition and renovation of Pebblebrook High School accommodates two educational programs at a single location. The first is the neighborhood high school, which serves the immediate community. The second is the Cobb County Center for Excellence in Performing Arts, a magnet program for aspiring performers from across the district. Cooper Carry's scope included a new performing arts theater, classroom building, field house, gymnasium, and selective interior renovations.
The three-story classroom building houses science and core classroom spaces, along with facilities for wrestling, weight training, and locker rooms on the first level. The gymnasium has a seating capacity of 3,000 and includes retractable seating as well as an upper-level walking track. The press box for the football field is strategically located within the gymnasium on the second level to provide optimal views of the athletic field. Adjacent to the gymnasium is the Career, Technical, and Agricultural Education (CTAE) block, which offers career paths such as ROTC, cosmetology, and graphic design.
The professional-grade performing arts theater seats 750 people. The backstage has 30 line sets featuring a mix of fixed- and variable-speed motorized hoists and a 50-foot fly loft. The facility will also include a dance studio and specialized lighting, sound, and set design areas.
