Metro 125
Harlem, NY
Metro 125, which is Phase I of the multi-phase East Harlem Media and Entertainment Center, includes street level retail and 50 affordable dwelling units that utilized available public funding mechanisms. The project employed a fast track process to expedite the delivery of much needed affordable units to the community. Cooper Carry’s vision for East Harlem is a proposed mixed-use project initiative led by the NYC Economic Development Corporation. Located between 125th and 127th Streets, between Second and Third Avenues, the site is approximately 6 acres and consists of three parcels totaling 1.7 million square feet. As part of a broader development scheme aimed at promoting local economic growth, encouraging private investment, and improving living conditions for local residents, the city envisions this area as an integral part of realizing the goal of making Harlem one of the premiere media, cultural and entertainment centers in the United States.
