Georgia Veterans Education Career Transition Resource Center (VECTR)

Warner Robins, GA

The Georgia Veterans Education Career Transition Resource Center (VECTR) is a collaborative initiative among the University System of Georgia (USG), the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG), and the Governor's Office. The center serves Middle Georgia State College (MGSC) and Central Georgia Technical College. It provides academic and social support to veterans and their families transitioning from military service to the workforce.

VECTR is designed as a one-stop-shop environment, simplifying the journey for veterans. Here, they can access workforce training and prepare for university enrollment nationwide. The center's primary aim is to address the challenge of translating military knowledge and skills into a professional setting, a hurdle many veterans face when seeking employment. While many companies accept military experience instead of certification, they often struggle to match the veterans' experience with the specific knowledge and skills required for the position.

Through quality learning environments, VECTR provides veterans with the skills and competencies necessary to succeed in real-world business settings, foster collaborations, and solve problems. Ultimately, the center strives to enhance the employment opportunities of new veterans and support their transition into civilian life.
