Cooper Carry Atlanta Office
Atlanta, GA
191 Peachtree is the manifestation of two distinct visions – aesthetic excellence in a sustainable environment and an innovative, flexible space to promote collaboration and connectivity. The office, designed to achieve the highest level of LEED certification, demonstrates a commitment to community and the environment while creating a dramatic visual statement showcasing the possibilities of “green” design. One of the most significant design features, the sweeping curved wall that defines the lobby, town center and conferencing area, is also one of the most sustainable aspects. Constructed of OSB board, a recycled wood product, which was then ebonized, it showcases an innovative solution for an impressive design statement that is also environmentally responsible. The sleek metal floor, shimmering fabric walls, textural carpet tiles and custom designed mdf workstations contribute to the “green” aesthetic with their recycled content, while reusing/ refurbishing 75% of the furniture was also a conscious sustainable decision. The hierarchical corporate culture has been dissolved into an environment of openness and connectivity. In contrast to the dramatic dark entrance, the studio space, located adjacent to full-height windows, offers inspired views of the urban landscape and contribute to day-lighting requirements. The identically designed workstations allow the firm flexibility to respond to today’s ever changing business needs. High tables and “huddle rooms” create opportunities for group discussions and collaboration. The town center’s grand, glass and steel stair is the portal that keeps employees engaged with one another. The success of the space is achieved through the balance of sustainability and high design.191 Scope of Work: Interior architecture, including overall visioning, finish selection and furniture coordination.
