Coastal Carolina University, Academic & Classroom Building

This 48,966-square-foot Academic & Classroom Building at Coastal Carolina University houses three levels of classroom and office space. The project includes two 120-seat-tiered classrooms, one 90-seat-tiered classroom, eight additional smaller classrooms, and 100 offices. In addition, the facility includes an Einstein Bagels café with indoor and outdoor seating.

One of the guiding principles of this project was to provide an efficient layout of classrooms and offices while providing social gathering spaces on each floor. These social spaces provide students and faculty with the opportunity for incidental interaction and collaboration. The exterior design was intended to complement the campus vernacular with moments of transitional details.
