Athens Technical College, Health Sciences Building

The 70,000 square foot Health Sciences building provides state-of-the-art clinical teaching classrooms and laboratories that support a diverse range of medical technology instruction. The project is designed to provide instructors and students an environment that simulates real world working conditions and facilitates learning in small groups. Problem Based Learning and Hands-On learning approaches are used with an emphasis on student/teacher interaction. The building houses programs in Surgical Technology, Nursing, Radiography, Respiratory Therapy, Biotechnology and Medical Assisting. Simulation facilities include sterile core, mock operating room, ambulance bay and several clinical simulation laboratories.
