Town Center Four is a 108,000 square foot (SF) “office building of the future” that houses the UVA Biocomplexity Institute as its major tenant. The building is uniquely designed to be adaptable to numerous types of business and research needs with its column-free spans and taller floor-to-floor heights.
The amenity-rich first floor has its lobby located at the end of the building. Its oversized doors open to Town Center Park where tenants within the Research Park gather for events during the week. The lobby is a space for everyone and includes a coffee/smoothie bar with quick snacks, serving as a third space for people to work or relax while getting away from their desks. The first floor also includes a 3,600 SF fitness center and a 150-seat conference center with a spacious prefunction area.
The Cooper Carry-designed Biocomplexity Institute offers a 52,000 SF facility for a wide range of scientific research, from genetic sequencing to policy analysis to tackling the complex task of understanding massively interacting systems and predicting solutions to issues impacting health, well-being, and habitat. The Institute now has a state-of-the-art workplace environment that includes computational dry lab space, open wet labs, and clinical labs for behavioral science research.
