Eldred, NY
The Eldred Preserve is an independently operated, 3,000-acre property located in the town of Highland in Sullivan County, New York. Originally founded in the late 1960s as a premier destination for fishing and outdoor sporting activities, the preserve has since undergone a complete transformation to become an upscale resort and entertainment hub that caters to visitors of the Catskills and local community residents.
The resort was designed with the intention of being a “jewel in the woods,” where the forested environment serves as a stunning backdrop to a sleek, contemporary design that incorporates glass, wood, and stone elements. The preserve boasts 23 guest rooms, five private cabins, and over 8,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space. Two legacy brands, The Bradstan Boutique Hotel and The Homestead Restaurant + Lounge, are featured at The Eldred Preserve. Additionally, The Preserve Wedding + Events provides a new space for guests to hold their special events, with a large pavilion that offers picturesque views of the ponds, stream, and tree-covered hillside beyond.
The restaurant and event spaces feature 26-foot-tall windows and operable glass walls that provide an unobstructed view of the outdoors, while open-air terraces offer the perfect space for guests to dine and entertain al fresco. The site plan and discreet wayfinding encourage guests to explore the natural grounds, whether it be soaking up views or dining under a tree canopy. The indoor and outdoor spaces were designed to seamlessly blend together, with the interiors harmoniously blending with the exterior design throughout the property.
