The Shops at Wiregrass

This lifestyle center creates a community destination for the City of North Tampa in Florida. A part of a much larger development, which includes a 24-screen theater complex, restaurants, townhouses and single family homes, this phase creates a unique experience for the shopper. A crescent-shaped main street is oriented to the pedestrian and has three distinct plazas: one for community events, one for adults and one for families. Three major department stores anchor the ends and center of the crescent. National retail shops in between are scaled for the pedestrian. The architectural design reflects an updated version of the regional vernacular, which concentrates on maximizing the climate: wide overhangs for shade, wide openings for ocean breezes, lush landscaping and water for cooling effects.
