Cooper Carry and the City of Milton developed a new City Hall building in the historic Crabapple area of suburban Atlanta. The facility consists of a two-story administration building that houses the administrative functions of the City Hall, an attached single-story building that serves as the council chambers, and a detached single-story building that operates as a community center. The city hall's two wings -- administrative and legislative -- were designed to fit with the design of the Milton County Courthouse, and the community center was modeled off the old farmhouses of the area, and features red brick and barn wood. The building integrates numerous new technologies, and green building practices included energy efficient air conditioning systems, low-VOC paint, LED lighting and more to keep the cost of ownership low.
The site includes parking, a native landscape design and a large public plaza that facilitates outdoor events and festivals. Cooper Carry provided full architectural design, landscape/hardscape design, environmental graphic design, as well as workplace strategy and interior design services.
